Looks like the government is aiming for the Occupy Wall St strategy of denying the protestors have any message at all.

And RNZ are governmental minions, parroting this uncritically.

I don't think it's going to work here: everybody who isn't a wealthy sorted donor knows people protesting. #nzpol
Strikers' demands 'a mystery', government's top negotiator says
The Public Service Commissioner says it's regrettable major strike action is going ahead, because he's always been available to negotiate.

Remember, if you cant attend strike action today due to weather or other factors, you can still bully the governments social media in support of workers instead.

Of course, the strikes are politically motivated!

Unions are political organisations designed to promote and defend workers' rights.

It's literally what they do!!!!!

Also worth noting that our worst paid nurses in New Zealand, the ones whose pay equity claims were thrown in the trash by this government aren't able to join the strike today. But remember that primary health care, aged care and Māori health service nurses stand in solidarity with the strike.

Let us not be mad that the weather is hobbling our attempts at #oct23strike actions, let us remember that climate change is a worker rights issue. Our health & safety in all facets of life is endangered by climate crisis. Displacement & relocation of workforces will be fueled by climate migrations

“Why should those in caring professions be the only ones to shoulder this burden? How can we help? What can we do?

That's why I'm asking you to show up in any way you can - whether it's attending an event tomorrow, posting on social media accounts (#Oct23Strike), or writing to your MP…” #nzpol

More on Brian Roche - apparently he's on a part time $650,000 contract and keeps 4 private directorships including a property investment/development company and forestry. No wonder he has no problem politicising the PSC for his benefit #nzpol #kiw

#BHN The government keeps telling NZ that the unions need to get back to the negotiating table, while the government also refuse to accept a date for the unions to get back to the table to negotiate #nzpol #NZPolitics @chewienz.bsky.social

I suggest MPs' salary increases should be no higher than the lowest increase won by public servants in collective bargaining during the corresponding parliamentary term. If we can't afford to pay teachers, nurses & doctors more, then we can't afford to pay politicians more either. #NZPol
