id love to see a zohran mamdani type in kansas, walking around a farm, nodding his head while he talks about how he or she is gonna make life better for ma and pa while taking on the agri-business fatcats.

mamdani is the model for future dem candidates and it can work in all 50 states. not the boring milquetoast candidates who refuse to take a position on hot button issues. they inspire nobody but dnc ad makers.
This is America, where we brutalize individuals, destroy families, and terrorize children.

I'm looking to speak to people who rely on SNAP about what this past week has been like. If that's you, please reach out, or pass along to others. Can be anonymous.

Out on patrol. ICE very active on the far North Side including Edgewater and Lincoln Square. Multiple abductions. Vulnerable folks should get off the street if they can. Street vendors should be bought out, landscapers warned. If you’re in Chicago and you’re not ICE watch trained, pls get trained.
Cruelty, humiliation, and dehumanization for cruelty's, humiliation's, and dehumanization's sakes.

So hard to find a balance between learning and opening your eyes to it and protecting yourself from the harm of knowing this exists.

I’m doing research for a project and found out about the “don’t buy where you can’t work” movement during the depression, where Black people boycotted and picketed places that wouldn’t hire us. Shout out to everyone who’s not going back to Target!

Why should you 🫵🏿 care about SNAP? SNAP recipients saw:

- Improved life expectancy
- Lower chance of incarceration
- Lowers chance of poverty
- Lived in better neighborhoods
- Higher human capital

SNAP keeps our neighbors fed, communities safer, and kids educated. Also people are HUNGRY. DUH!

Not to mention all the ilku-duty and corvée work mandatory education every time there was an update.

I distributed all 150 copies of Megan's "How to Report ICE Philly edition" at Philly Zine Fest yesterday and at least 5 people returned to ask me if it was OK for them to print their own copies to distribute. I responded with an enthusiastic YES - that's the point and I hope everyone does so.

I think the primary reason SNAP is a voucher instead of cash is because it isn't universal. If we made it universal, I think the idea of converting it into a cash program would suddenly become very popular. This is why one possible strategy to winning UBI could be by first making SNAP universal.
Anyway, SNAP should be universal. Just like school lunches in NYC. Not everyone needs it to survive but everybody gets it, no means testing.

There should also be a lot fewer regulations on what you can buy with SNAP and discounts, not bans, on hot prepared foods.

He didn’t!

Trump played far more often in his first term (260+ in four years versus Obama’s 330+ over eight years) — and is playing *more often* this time around.

Term 1: www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
Term 2: www.pbump.net/o/an-officia...
TAPPER: Obama's comments came within a day of Trump hosting a Gatsby-themed Halloween party at Mar-a-Lago while SNAP benefits are set to run out. Your response?

BESSENT: I believe President Obama played a record amount of golf of any president, so I'm not sure why he's out there throwing stones

Absofuckinglutely NOT. Just no.

Haven’t even started in academia and this old profile is being resurrected and turned into slop?!?

Seriously, though. Can you turn it off? Or should I just quit the service? Any point being on there?
Or advocating to supplement it with UBI?

This goes double of you’ve never been or had to help an overwhelmed wic recipient who’s crying because she picked up a brand of cereal that’s not covered.

Unless you’ve been on SNAP or had to be a cashier in a grocery store while someone discovers the insane restrictions placed on SNAP food choices, I simply think you should shut the hell up about food access.
