You can see how bleak in the aftermath photos. I’m completely freaked out about being forced to leave pets behind. They will die. Thank goodness for local teachers and the Bethel rescue nonprofit. They are planning on chartering a plane.

This is the Western Alaska animal nonprofit working to rescue the pets in Kipnuk.

The residents of Kipnuk are under a mandatory evac order but can not bring their pets with them. Supporting this group will help with charter aircraft, etc.

Every hour it feels like we are thrown in a new direction. We are now looking at chartering a plane out to Kipnuk to pick up dogs that need to evacuate as well. With the help of some dedicated teachers who want to make sure these dogs make it we hope we can accomplish this!
We don't know how many times we are going to need to do this. One round trip charter is approx $3,000
As soon as we can get a caravan booked we are going to head out.

#UglyDogs I can’t imagine being told I could not bring my pet with me. Thank goodness for local teachers and Bethel Friends of Canines for working on getting pets out and being creative in ways to reunite pets with their families. This is a great nonprofit if you’d like to make a donation.

I just learned how at the Soldotna airstrip, Yute air is where donations will be accepted until 8 pm Saturday. "Because we're Alaskans!"

They are working to sort, distribute and evacuate.
