A magnitude-6 earthquake had Southcentral Alaska rocking this morning. The Alaska Earthquake Center reports that the quake struck 37 miles northwest of Anchorage.

An Anchorage woman who survived a bear mauling this summer says she’s so grateful to the rescuers who scrambled to save her life.

“I don't remember being down, but I do remember laying there being chewed on and trying to play dead,” Victoria Lydle said.

An Alaska Marine Lines barge that was taking on water off the coast of British Columbia has continued its journey south to Seattle.

The barge was spotted floating lower than normal last week near Bella Bella, about 260 miles south of Ketchikan.
