Oxford had a talented group make a video about the #dinosaur tracks in Oxfordshire this summer.
Birmingham also had a talented group make a video.

I made the video for our group. It is less professional. And has wildly inappropriate music:

A fascinating article by BBC News about the Dewars Farm Quarry dinosaur trackway excavation by scientists from across the UK and Oxford University Museum of Natural History, including some fabulous computer generated animation. Great stuff!

The release of the BBC story on this year’s dinosaur track excavation at Dewars Farm means I can finally post these team photos. Thanks so much to quarry manager Mark Stanway & all his team at Smiths Bletchington for being utterly amazing & supporting our work at the site.

Back in June we were back on the Oxfordshire “dinosaur highway”, excavating more dinosaur tracks with our teams from the Universities of Birmingham, Oxford & Liverpool John Moores. The BBC have a story out today about our work at the site:

After we published the new specimen of #Spicomellus a few weeks ago, we were contacted by George Blasing, who said he'd bought some on the commercial market, and wanted to return it to Morocco. It arrived last week. Thanks George for doing the right thing in the name of science!

In this era of ever advancing quality in anatomical imaging, how is it possible to publish a taxonomic revision and name a new dinosaur species without showing a single image of the fossils? Not even one photograph.

Sort of incredible to publish a taxonomic revision and name a new species without figuring an actual fossil.

Years ago I learned how to use em dashes appropriately, and using them in my writing has been a point of personal pride. Oh how the mighty have fallen — now everyone thinks I'm using ChatGPT.

Coming to the end of another University of Birmingham Palaeontology undergraduate fieldtrip to Utah & Colorado. Thanks to the incredible @jlivelypaleo.bsky.social & @prehistoricmuseum.bsky.social team - we had an amazing time digging dinosaurs in the Cedar Mountain Formation.

There was an error earlier today apparently - I understand it has been fixed and the early rate should be available until 11:59 pm Eastern Time. If people have paid the wrong rate then I'd suggest they drop the Business Office a message ([email protected]).
