🥳 Congratulations to Melinda Bell on her discovery of the Candelabra Coral fungi in Charnwood Forest.

🕎 This is the first time this species has been recorded in Leicestershire, and until 2012 it was considered extinct in the UK!

🌍 This week, our Geoheritage Officer has been presenting our work on geoconservation at ProGEO - the International Association for the Conservation of Geological Heritage.

💸 Our Geopark hosted the ProGEO conference in 2023, bringing a boost of c.£100,000 to the local economy.

🚫 It is an offence to pick mushrooms within many of the Geopark's protected natural sites - including Beacon Hill, Bradgate Park, and The Outwoods.
