6 of 8:
We rode my motorcycle to Woolaroc and turned around in the driveway. She suffered a panic attack. Her mother suggested a nice boy when Judy was 18. He took her to Woolaroc and raped her. She was a virgin.

I 100% want a wealth tax. There’s this quote on a plaque here at a natural wildlife preserve called Woolaroc where someone said something to the effect, “if you’re rich, it’s your moral obligation to give back and make the world better…” (hence: Woolaroc exists).

A hand-woven Navajo rug draped above the door of the Frank Phillips’ Woolaroc Ranch Lodge near Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Natives called it the "Whirling Log." In 1940, an intertribal agreement signed by the chiefs of the Navajo, Hopi, Apache, and Tohono O'odham tribes banned its usage in future art.

It doesn’t help when national events come here and for whatever reason they shoot B-roll far outside the city because that’s what people expect Tulsa is like? I remember one PGA event TV coverage opened with waiving wheat and some roaming bison. “Did they go to Woolaroc for this?!” It was wild.

Woolaroc is cool. I love the architecture of Bruce Goff.

On May 23 1838, the forced removal of the Cherokee, Muscogee (Creek) Nation, Seminole, Chickasaw, Choctaw and other Native American nations began - a land theft and displacement known as the Trail of Tears. Approximately 60,000 people were displaced of whom up to 6,000 died on the Trail.

Why does this old gas station look like a witch's house? Do you think the owner lures children in with convenience store treats? #witch #gasstation #phillips66 #prewararchitecture #woolaroc #oklahoma

Lesson #1 for the US:

You can't do that. There are people. Living there.

Not that it ever phased them.. but now would be a good time to learn.

We went to Woolaroc as a class in fifth grade. Took Megan there in 2013, but for some reason the only pic I have in my phone is this guy. Didn't meet anyone cool. Well, except for the ostrich.

When I was a kid, my family liked to go to Woolaroc every summer. I was wearing Royals stuff one year, and an elderly lady working an outdoor display struck up a conversation about baseball. Turns out, she used to be very close with Euel Moore. They'd dated. She mailed me tons of info months later.
