In the initial part of the dream, I remember finding it remarkable I could see visible, swirling vortices coming off some aero structure atop the airbox. And then it morphed into an actual multi-blade prop.

I did my stocking up Thurs-Fri so I wouldn't have to leave the house this weekend. Negative wind chills, single digit actual temperatures. I don't usually mind winter, but this one has been a bit much. Begone, polar vortices!!!

I've been lucky where I live so far, but a very real part of our planning is how to make sure we can survive when we inevitably have a large scale long-lasting power outage in extreme low temperatures due to descending polar vortices due to global warming weakening the jetstreams. :D

Often, we see multiple small circles because the initial disturbance breaks into several vortices of different sizes which die out as water calms.

The raccoon finished drinking & pulled its mouth away it disturbed the water, leaving behind flow - little currents moving in different directions. The surface tension of the water & shape of bowl constrain that motion so instead of sloshing around the water organizes into circular flow=vortices.
