There are two I have. One is a climate summit where students have to represent a country in the world, understand how that country is impacted by climate change and climate policy, and then come to an agreement on what technologies they would employ and how they would accomplish promises. #sunchat

Love this! We did something similar at our Open House-we created a Bingo Board where Ss walked around with their families to check off tasks to get to know our school & systems better! #LeadLAP

🌟Each day, our students pick a sentence starter, like “Today I worked hard to accomplish…” and reflect on their achievements. This not only boosts their confidence but also helps them set goals for the week ahead!

Helping students to complete tasks or assignments isn't an intervention. Intervention is systematically taking a student to mastery on a critical skill using a research-based practice. #LeadInclusion #EduSky #InclusiveEd #EdLeaders #MTSS #UDL

Research: Kids learn best when they teach, not by taking tests. The activity of having to recall info and explain concepts to others is also fundamental to storytelling--explainer videos, documentaries, digital books.

This!
“when you let it go you are a contributor to it not a bystander.”

Sadly I have made a mistake of doing this as I had an experience when they didn’t hold peers to the same degree. Then were in shocked when 1 or 2 constantly caused issues. I was like: “when you let it go you are a contributor to it not a bystander.”

I love this idea, Alison! We had a student think tank 3 years ago that came up with ideas for reimagining school (we implemented many & it was empowering). I've been looking for the next idea for student-led change & this could be it!! Thank you.

At my school I run a school culture and community club that is truly run by students. My admin has been very supportive and encourage students to take ownership over who “we” are as a community. But I do think that the admin needs to deal with bad actors swiftly and directly #sunchat
The biggest issue that I see with school culture is that many students who are "the problem" are running the school and others are learning that they can get away with anything with a slap on the wrist. This transfer is in the classrooms when students don't want to do what they want to do. #sunchat

"The Man of Commerce" an 1889 map that depicts the US transportation system as a ... man with no skin?

I keep looking at this and it never gets less unsettling.
