It is mental health awareness month. Right now, all of us are taking a mental health hit. What are you doing for your own mental health, the mental health of others? How can this community support you?

They can see the difficulty of climate policy but the necessity of it, and have come up with some amazing negotiations for cooperation. #sunchat

There are two I have. One is a climate summit where students have to represent a country in the world, understand how that country is impacted by climate change and climate policy, and then come to an agreement on what technologies they would employ and how they would accomplish promises. #sunchat

Important conversation. As a teacher, and someone who values community, this is a real issue. Rugged individualism and retreating to our own spaces has been normalized. Online community, while can be important, does not eliminate the need for face to face collectivism. So, how do we teach that ?

Read this thread. Thank you to the ACLU and to Judge Boasberg for the lightning speed at which this was attended to. Boasberg was away for the weekend, did not bring his robes and heard the case in plain clothes because he recognized the urgency of the situation, and to democracy. That is a patriot.
BOASBERG RULES IN FAVOR OF THE ACLU, holding that the ACLU is likely to succeed on the TRO claims that there is neither an invasion as defined under the AEA and that the AEA does not apply to gangs like Tren de Aragua. "I don't think the AEA provides a basis for removal under this proclamation.":

Please, call your senators. Demand they vote No for the CR. Do not acquiesce. We deserve a clean bill.

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

We have two abusers in the White House. Even though we knew that, it was still very hard to watch. They beat Zelenskyy in front of camera. As they kicked him, stating they were Zelenskyy's savior and he should be thankful. The very MO of all abusers. Censure them. Stand with Ukraine.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

We can be easily overwhelmed by the sheer number of things happening. We cannot do it all. Pick a lane. Focus on that subject. Look at your community. Address needs. Ask for help. Mutual aid networks and approaches can be expanded. Don't spread yourself too thin, but act.

We have always seen the quote, " look for the helpers" in times of great need. While this gives us hope, it needs to be said, " Be a helper ".
