Love love love me some Leppard.

Every track is great.

Seen them 8 times in concert.
Boy have I got some stories.
They'll probably keep me warm
in my old age.

www.dailykos.com/stories/2026... One note: in what world is @thirdway.bsky.social “center-left”? I wouldn’t even describe them as “center-right”. They’re corporate shills posing as moderates. Ugh.

I absolutely go through periods where I get sick of seeing American stories, especially when they become predictable, like every post apocalypse ends up with a gang of assholes with guns and one guy who is so 'independant' that he wrecks the survivors chances by being wreckless and selfish blah

I really like the idea of Sonic audio dramas, I feel like there's a bunch of fun stories you can do in this format. The main problem I have with it though is having to hear Mike Pollock and Karen Strassman speak and I do not really want that.

I don’t think the world needs superhero stories. but if they are going to connect with anyone, especially anyone young, the bare minimum they have to meet is out there in the streets every day. people risking their lives to voice slogans and symbols they believe in, on behalf of others.

I've read several stories of mothers in law acting like fucking creeps esp when they're boy moms with their grand daughters on Reddit like why are you trying to kill yourself grand daughters by giving them food they're allergic to or wrapping them in infected blankets like wtf

Is there a site that collects all the US citizen/Indigenous/Legal Resident kidnapped by ICE stories and videos?

I’d like to ask my MAGA leaning friends if they are aware that ICE is not detaining only undocumented rapists and murderers

And show them the videos.

Last week in Kamchatka, #Russia, five feet of snow fell and the wind pushed it against buildings two stories high. To celebrate, people are jumping out of windows to land in the fluff--because they're idiots who don't know physics. 2 dead. 17 hospitalized. www.themoscowtimes.com/2026/01/19/k...

Ps. Just to make my meaning explicit, when I referenced @amywestervelt.bsky.social reporting here:
bsky.app/profile/thim...
It was in the context of how there are interesting, if not absurd, stories that corporate media could be reporting but don't (or they whisper it in the back pages)...
And meanwhile you have @amywestervelt.bsky.social talking about how the citizens of Guyana are requiring revenues from an oil basin in Guyana in order to retreat from the climate damage about to happen in Guyana due to oil:

I chose the KC Chiefs back in 2013 because I like come back stories - they were the wordy team
In the league (1st overall pick) and both HC and QB had both been fired from organizations they were in for their whole careers despite the success they had. That made for a good story.

This thing called civilization has only ever been good in the stories it’s told about itself.

“The real problem of humanity is the following: We have Paleolithic emotions, medieval institutions and godlike technology."

One interpretation here is that "people are excellent at remembering stories"

Stories as a data structure are ridiculously sticky and powerful for humans, and understanding how this works will be incredibly powerful technology
