Prep work for the front panels is done! Now, I can baste all the panels together and check the fit one last time for any minor adjustments. The tailors tape was tedious, but with as many functions as it serves, it was 💯 necessary. #sewsky

Watching 'Amanda & Alan's Greek Job'.

I could very much cope with ten days on Corfu...after three months of hard graft with the sewing machine recreating Amanda Holden's entire wardrobe. My spectacular sunhat needs its moment to shine!

Very happy with the finished bodice. French seams all around as well. This cotton/linen blend frays easily so I also used a little interfacing for installing the zipper.

Buttonholes are bound! I decided to only do a single fold for the welt since the holes are only 1/4in tall. Plus, now they coordinate with the single welt pockets. I'm really happy with how they've turned out. #sewsky ps, I love my little bamboo Ikea cutting board as a clapper.

Originally, I wasn't planning on adding batting/wadding into the shoulders, but as I was whipping tailors tape onto the edge of the hymo, I noticed how bulky the pocket welt was, so I decided to include a single layer with the area around the welt trimmed away so the thickness is more even. #sewsky

Pattern matched tiny welt pocket with piping! Basting and thread marking for the win. I had to do this as a first step so the pocket could live between the fabric and the canvas. Next step is to bind the buttonholes. #sewsky

I haven’t sewed in a while but ready to get back. Unfortunately my sewing room isn’t set up yet since we recently moved. Handbags are my thing. Here’s one I made a few years ago. #sewsky

Guess I shouldn't have posted my 2025 stats because I just made some scraps into fabric, made that fabric into a circle block, and made that block into a pouch to put things in. #sewsky #quiltsky

Back is assembled and seams bound. I still need to bind the armscye and hem, but i need to cut more binding for that, which I'll do after I cut the lining for the front. I bound the seams as a sort of cross between a flat-fell and a Hong Kong finish, and I love how clean it looks #sewsky

I am learning how to make pieced circles on the machine. I can't say it took 6 minutes, but I was interrupted at least 12 times. #quiltsky #sewsky

A dear friend gave me this gorgeous used sweater. I loved it but the neckline was too low for my comfort and the sleeves and underarms were super tight. I still can't believe I had the guts to do it, but here’s an accounting of my adventure altering it - 🧵1/6 #sewsky #memade #garmetsewing

We made a lot of pullbags, so I took a break for my first simple drape and pin. The insides aren’t too pretty but folded and hand stitched the sides before going in to finish it with the machine. All that is left is to hem and add straps if I’m going too.

Over the holidays I had a little down time and decided to continue on painting gold for a little sparkle ✨ on my hand-upcycled quilt jacket. I have a feeling I might come back to it another time as I could only do it a little at a time.
