Day 5 of my Edwardian #AdventCalendar is Helen Taft's 1909 inaugural ball gown, made by the Frances Smith Company. It is made of white silk chiffon appliquéd with metallic floral embroidery and trimmed with lace, rhinestones and beads. National Museum of American History. #fashionhistory

Picked up this cutie for myself today! I never really liked Rae Dunn or the obsession with it. Now I find it ironic that there used to be such an expensive mad dash for it but today it's a just a secondhand $7 shirt. 🎃🖤🤣
