Lmao the funny thing is I didn't even know the rest of the series existed until my friend got me addicted to PSO. She randomly mentioned PSIV to me one day and the rest is history

PSIV remains my favorite classic RPG of all time. Helluva way to end a series.

I ended up buying the entire Phantasy Star record collection just to tip the odds that I'll see one for PSIV.

What if the heroes of Phantasy Star 1 battles the heroes of Phantasy Star 4? In this game, a multidimensional battle is about to happen! Been developing this fan game with different modes on! #indiegamedev #gamedev #indiedev #phantasystar #segagenesis #nostalgia #phantasystar4 #psiv

One of my best pals is a long time PSIV fan and eventually got really big into Etrian Odyssey, she just started her first playthrough of Phantasy Star and it’s absolutely scratching the map sketch itch for her.

I've been trying to restore the whole Phantasy Star 4 tileset in RPG Maker MZ, and there has been a big struggle. There isn't really a faster way of implementing it. The sizing isn't exactly the same. #indiegame #indiegamedev #indiedev #gamedev #indie #psIV #phantasystar #gamedesign

Loved this game. It was mindblowing with all the twists & where the game had you go. I only played Shining Force 2 before this & saw my cousin play FF6.

PSIV is so damned good

PSIV is undoubtedly the *best* of them, hahahaha. It's still impressive how clean and smooth it feels in play. II is a brutal one to have come in on for a first RPG, too lol, no wonder it stuck itself in so deeply to you. I was terrified of the splitting slimes for the sound effect lmao.

I lost my first when I realized my CDZ wasn't keeping saves !

I just started again, have been playing games very infrequently . I decided to re edit my PSIV project which I hadn't done in years, finished that, and after I get through this string of events I'll keep playing Sam sho! Galford

I think PSII and PSIV are some of the most important rpgs to play period and *wow* making me think about those games means a lot.

On the Megadrive Streets of Rage, Road Rash, NHL Hockey, Gunstar Heroes, Spiderman, Phantasy Star III (yeah I know, that's the one no one likes), Sonic 1 and 2, Thunderforce IV all smashed it for me. And later I got to play Shining Force, PSIV, Soleil, Landstalker, bunch of bangers.

One thing I really love about PSIV are the combination spells. The first time getting one on accident was an incredible feeling. Also, I wish they had made a SEGA AGES version like they did with the first game

It'll have to be after I finish Silksong and PSIV. Gonna really depend on my vibe checker for how much I wanna do long games in the immediate future. I kinda wanna do all of the Wario Land games after one of those two former games gets done.

You can really feel the jump from 1/2/3 to 4. PSIV feels in pretty much every respect like a modern game with modern balancing. If it was released as an Indie-RPG today, it wouldn't feel out of touch.

The original Phantasy Star games are so good. Though PSIII is a bit rough but the series really gets back to greatness with PSIV.

ok moving forward

a few examples of much more static games that are still interesting
psiv doesn't move them around but it still features small relatively simple drawing boxes that it brings up and closes all over screen. it's kind of a fun way to drag the eye about for a cutscene
