Honestly despite this mild head cold I am so down to finish up my stamp card for the Classicvania challenge tonight, so I'm thinking it'll be 1CC attempts on Super Castlevania 4 and then cleaning up runs I'm interested in doing better with

One of the biggest unfortunate changes to the Chronicles port is Fake Simon's sprites though. He had a unique looking whip and that's completely gone in both Original and Arrange mode in Chronicles if I'm not mistaken, very big downgrade there

Chronicles (and X68k period really) have ended up really ascending in the ranks for me too as far as Classic CVs I adore. So satisfying to master, and so rewarding to beat. I'd always recommend Arrange first (though I wish it had proper knockback, the damage nerfs were enough IMO)

Yeah, it's ultimately still a good bit different thanks to small hitbox changes that persist into Arrange Mode. Simon's crouch is smaller, Drac's fireballs are possible to jump over if you stand before he shoots em, lots of little things.
