your attention to naturalistic detail in spite of having more stylized aesthetics overall remains such a strong draw for your work

There's a cool thing happening on YouTube where people are having their voice cloned by AI to have it narrate naturalistic-sounding YouTube tutorials and stuff and it's so fucking sinister. Back when we were a society we marched on draculas castle with torches and pitchforks for less

that's right, fantasy/sci-fi writers: breasts on lizard-girls? preposterous, unlikely, ridiculous!

heaving inflated bosoms on lizard-boys? Probable, naturalistic, encouraged!

HOLY FUCK. remaster? nah, REMIX! from the original multitrack! dated '80s effects are stripped away for a modern, naturalistic mix. gosh it's lovely. Morris' drums sound so good. as revelatory as The Beatles' Let It Be... Naked — but it's a better album overall.

The term ultra-processed food is ridiculous and the entire idea is a painfully silly extension of the naturalistic fallacy

In fiction and scriptwriting, too, naturalistic dialogue and realistic dialogue don’t necessarily mean the same thing.

You’d have to massage the dialogue and cut some bits, and you’d need WAY more naturalistic performances, but honestly I think this would work really well as a stage play

Influenced by gothic: houses are their own character. In QUESTION NOT MY SALT, I based the house on my own typical TX suburban neighborhood. IN THE DOLLHOUSE WE ALL WAIT: a metastatic mansion of a predatory, parasitic little-girl villain. DRIFT: modern but naturalistic and airy.

In fiction, homes tell us something about their inhabitants.

Q2: How do the living spaces in your horror reflect your characters?

Check out how we were able to measure the placebo effect in a naturalistic study! The findings might blow your mind.

It’s really jarring reading a SFF book and it drops an awkward “also trans women are seen as women in this setting”

Strictly speaking it’s better than the alternative, but I feel like there are more naturalistic ways to do that, such as, say, including a trans woman character

☢️#141. Idaho Transfer, 1973. Easy Rider alum, #PeterFonda directs this story of time traveling grad students trapped in a baron #postapocalyptic future. Non-actors shot in a naturalistic filming style contribute to a darkly unsettling and sometimes frustrating experience. 3/5 ☢️

Man and Boy at the NT is a curiosity. It’s a rarely revived Terence Rattigan play about a corrupt businessman who tries to get out of a financial mess by pimping out his son. Great performances and non-naturalistic staging. Interesting, but such a horrible protagonist that I recoiled. #theatre

again without my jokey hypercritical tone i agree that what you wrote was the intention i just think they didnt get it. the sentence itself is also bulky and ungraceful and not naturalistic at all, it doesnt flow as a part of the script, and then the performance&direction didnt line up with it.

The subplot about Depardieu as a boxer is an unwelcome distraction, but I like the naturalistic texture of this film, which is analagous to some US cinema at that time, as well as Sautet's busy camerawork. The chain-smoking is off the charts: it makes golden age stars seem positively abstemious. 3/3

Also, I have just done an image search for Scarlett Johansson in "Ghost World" (which I haven't seen) and I am now more disturbed than I was, because she doesn't look like a grown-up, she looks like a teenager, albeit one who is implausibly good at applying naturalistic makeup.

Keep in mind, the seemingly naturalistic art most often associated with ancient Greece stem from a later period than the art produced in the time-frame within which the Homeric and Hesiodic poems were first developed (c. 8th century BCE). Hence the perceived sacredness of aniconic art in antiquity.

You definitely need an understanding for naturalistic body movement to utilize bases well. you need to know what works and what doesn’t and you’re still like… crafting a scene and POV and shit but… idk. i’m such a traditionalist, I like to see what you can do with the bare essentials.
