'The spirited BTG ensemble, wearing the clothes some of us are loathe to admit lived in our own closets many moons ago, parties like it’s 1989. And we want to boogie with them.'

Read Len Fonte's full review of Baldwinsville Theatre Guild's staging of "The Wedding Singer," running through Oct. 26.
With mullets and mirror balls, ‘The Wedding Singer’ boogies into Baldwinsville (review)
BTG’s “The Wedding Singer” is a winking tribute to a time when hair bands and disco divas roamed the earth, and hairspray made a hole in the ozone layer.

I was lucky enough to see Alien in the theatre when it opened back in 1979.Over the yrs,I've watched it on VHS/DVD.In 2019,I went to a special viewing at a cinema in Phx.I had forgotten how much more anxiety inducing it is to watch this movie in a theater.I was claustrophobic by the time it was over

I would genuinely argue this is THE REASON I don't totally love him, because he HAS to present himself as a Safe minority and that only hurts others who aren't engaged in this political theatre. This isn't HIS fault per se, but also, if I criticize Sarah McBride for it, I have to criticize Mamdani

Pity the subs changed the NT Hamlet headline from the one in the paper itself: "Wild & whirling words" isn't an implied put-down ("fast & flat" is) nor is Susannah Clapp's excellent critique. Tough but fair. She really is the finest theatre critic we have at present.

A high-speed Hamlet is too fast and too flat | The Observer
Tragedy teeters on the brink of comedy in the National’s racing, relentless production, redeemed by Francesca Mills’s triumph as Ophelia

The theatre of politics is constructed to be so toxic that no decent, able person capable of devising a strategy to improve the country & its people would be daft enough to become involved.

Consequently we are left with 3rd rate grifters on the make who haven’t a clue.

Loved the staging of Hamlet at @nationaltheatre.org.uk Felt like a proper ghost story from the start. Francesca Mills was outstanding as Ophelia. If she isn't nominated for a best supporting actress award I'll riot.

The players doing The Mousetrap as a Jamie Lloyd production absolutely sent me!

Yeah, the cinema is more for like...fun trashy movies, I always feel really jumpy seeing more serious movies, even if the theatre is almost empty, because it only takes one loud asshole to entirely ruin the vibe

Sitting in child2's wheelchair van, reading my kindle and burping while he has theatre/acting club (I guzzled a tin of pop). Only after 30 minutes of this do I realise that the wheelchair van next to me also contains a parent and that we both have our windows open. May try to style it out. Somehow.

Claire Denis's #TheFence is an excellent case in point how theatre and film have different registers and this should've remained a play. Fabulous acting tho! #Lff2025
