#minocycline
Lucky me, on Sunday I switch over to Doxycycline from Minocycline. I already have history with doxycycline but the mino has been turning my skin navy blue. I have to take it continuously to control a genetic disease and whenever I switch to a new one I suffer for weeks.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is not just a trendy skincare product, it could actually help treat skin wounds🩹 The skin acts as the body's first barrier against pathogens and injury. Therefore, wound infections can trigger a complex cellular response and treatment is often challenging🦠

16. Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is a weird bug; it is a Pseudomonas w kind of strict nutritional needs (steno = narrow and trophi= food/nutrition, in Greek). More importantly, it is not covered –as you might expect –from carbapenems. You need minocycline/quinolones/ TMP/SMX

Conjunctival Cystic Hyperpigmentation Associated with Long-Term Minocycline Therapy
An 88-year-old man with a history of rosacea was referred for evaluation of a pigmented conjunctival lesion. Examination revealed gelatinous-appearing pigmentation of the tarsal conjunctiva bilaterally with small, pigmented cysts (A, B) as well as bilateral preauricular slate-grey pigmentation (C, D) and hyperpigmentation of the nail beds (E). On further questioning, the patient reported a 20-year-history of minocycline use (a tetracycline antibiotic) for rosacea. Prolonged use of minocycline often causes hyperpigmentation of the extremities and face.

Hospital went ok, they only had to stick my arm once this time lol and the doctor said my blood was acidic. I got discharged with some decent fluids and anti nausea medication. Going to follow up with my G.I. doc and I will stay off the antibiotic Minocycline forever.

A friend's MiL was put on it in the US, too. There have been a few studies now. In my case I went on it for a UTI and the Drs agreed with extending it for a bit cos it was calming things and clearing something out. It is used in MCAS. But minocycline is a more standard choice - have a Google.

Minocycline slowed cell growth and colony formation, with stronger effects at higher doses. However, markers related to cell change and stem cell-like properties remained unchanged. In normal cells, proteins MMP-2 and MMP-9 decreased, but not in cancer or mixed cells.
