#liberalism
Liberalism has been in power for a REALLY LONG TIME. Liberalism has put the control of the means of production of propaganda into the hands of the owning class and its supporters, so it amplifies both forms of propaganda while leaving the main contradictions unspoken. this defangs the propaganda.

socialism tries to resolve the contradiction of people v power w/o sacrificing economic stability by equalizing the power structure between owner and worker. in its various forms, it advocates unionism, communalism, progressivism, and egalitarianism, the last 2 of which are in common with liberalism

liberalism became the justifying ideology of capitalism, which itself became a contradiction suppressing and resolving force. capitalism resolved the contradiction of access to work v ability to work by holding private control of the means of production and socializing access through labor...

liberalism attempted to resolve the conflict of people v power without sacrificing economic gains, and did so through revolution and a campaign of terror that was eventually ended through its own tools. the nobility and royalty were intentionally dispossessed as fully as possible for the liberalists

in time, that lead to the development of systems like feudalism, liberalism, communism, and anarchism.

each of these attempts to solve or suppress a contradiction, and in turn raises contradictions. this is the essence of dialectical materialism's analysis of history.

What he really means is that the aggressively militarist imperialistic Axis powers Germany, Italy, and Japan all lost the war. If only Hitler had won, there would be none of this wimpy liberalism and certainly no race mixing. The non-white races would have known their place in that world.😏

"performative liberalism" turns into "ignorant fascism" pretty fast

The rain does not care about easy versus west, Christianity versus Islam, liberalism versus illiberalism, or who is making money off plundering Venezuela

I hope Rodriguez lights all their stored oil on fire and poisons the wells

This madness must end now

This year. Immediately

A summary: Liberalism, whether progressive or conservative, is a capitalist ideology. Fascism is capitalism in self-defense mode, when the tools of empire are used on the Metropole to stop socialist drift.

You are now, whether you like it or not, engaging in the enablement and defense of fascism.

Liberalism exists, but liberals do not
can we finally agree that liberals aren't leftists and just stop wasting time and energy
January 5, 2026 at 8:34 PM
imagine the hubris it takes to "educate" an anarchist on the "rightness" of liberalism...
i wish i had the unabashed ignorance of a middle-aged white man living in the USA: sure would make my life a lot simpler, y'know with the lack of broad critical thinking skills and thoughts of any consequence
January 5, 2026 at 8:28 PM
Luckily, socialists are much more intellectually flexible and morally sound than the leaders of these authoritarian governments were. (I‘d look at the USA right now and Europe in the 20th Century for clues about how reliable liberalism is —though I am a great fan of liberal principles)

Just a fundamental misunderstanding (or at least misrepresentation) of what liberalism, and neoliberalism, is.

Pretty sure bluesky liberalism died with Walz reelection campaign

Stephen Miller doesn't like neo-liberalism. Maybe I didn't pay enough attention, maybe a lot of other people will now be more aware of where this is heading.
Eyes wide open, folks. They're revealing the supervillain plot.

Liberalism is chaos and diet fascism.

Anarchy is order
January 5, 2026 at 8:04 PM
Liberalism is better than anarchism so I’m trying to educate you.
January 5, 2026 at 8:03 PM
That's not what liberalism is bro
January 5, 2026 at 7:53 PM
The era he’s so pissed at wasn’t even neoliberal!! It was a messy fusion of liberalism, corporatism, and social democracy.

Perhaps we should remember that prior to the previous two World Wars large swathes of American society sided first with the German Empire and then with the Nazis.
They have never supported European liberalism.

Liberalism has done a better job arguably than communism. Both major communist countries have become authoritarian and fascist.
January 5, 2026 at 7:40 PM
One of the rhetorical features of fascism i always teach is its insatiable appetite for proclaiming the hypocrises of liberalism (it's why tu quoque and hypocrisy arguments never work on them). It forces liberals to defend particulars and not universals
"My opponents are deranged conspiracy theorists but they have a point and are getting what they want" is extreme loser behavior
January 5, 2026 at 7:37 PM
Hmm yes. The trouble with the utilitarian strand of liberalism is that in using it justify any abomination (as the lesser of two evils) you eventually stand for nothing. Chlorinated chicken anyone?

It's not easy for sure and compromises come with the territory, but to govern is to choose.

As a long time reader and officially first time subscriber yesterday, I encourage friends of liberalism to do the same.
Yesterday we went up another percentage point towards our goal. Reminder that 40% ($200k) is an important milestone where we'll be able to finally bring on an editor full time. If you're looking for a moment to make an impact, this is that moment! gofund.me/0702ba937
