Biden, Jr. Special Counsel Robert K. Hur Submitted pursuant to 28 C.F.R. § 600.8(c) Washington, D.C. February 2024 Mr. Biden's memory also appeared to have significant limitations-both at the time he spoke to Zwonitzer in 2017, as evidenced by their recorded conversations, and today, as evidenced by his recorded interview with our office. Mr. Biden's recorded conversations with Zwonitzer from 2017 are often painfully slow, with Mr. Biden struggling to remember events and straining at times to read and relay his own notebook entries. In his interview with our office, Mr. Biden's memory was worse. He did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended ("if it was 2013 when did I stop being Vice President?"), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began ("in 2009, am I still Vice President?"). He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died. And his memory appeared hazy when describing the Afghanistan debate that was once so important to him. Among other things, he mistakenly said he "had a real difference" of opinion with General Karl Eikenberry, when, in fact. Eikenberry was an ally whom Mr. Biden cited approvingly in his Thanksgiving memo to President Obama. We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning. elderly man with a poor memory. Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him-by then a former president well into his eighties -of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.

Regional backlash against the UAE is disrupting Emirati weapons shipments to Sudan’s RSF, according to the Africa team lead at Critical Threats. Egypt and Saudi Arabia have reportedly withdrawn overflight permission for arms flights from Abu Dhabi to eastern Libya, while Somalia has banned Emirati military flights and expelled the UAE from Bosasso, a key transit hub. The disruption comes as RSF offensives intensify and as Saudi Arabia is reported to be brokering a $1.2bn arms deal for Sudan’s army. See new posts Conversation Liam Karr @liam_karr Regional retaliation against the UAE for its role in Somaliland and Yemen has almost certainly disrupted Emirati weapons shipments to the RSF in western Sudan. Numerous reports that Egypt and Saudi Arabia have withdrawn overflight permission for arms shipments going from Abu Dhabi to eastern Libya, cutting that route for the time being. Somalia also banned Emirati military flights in its airspace and kicked the UAE out of Bossaso, which was a vital stopover point for the other route that went to Chad/eastern Libya via Ethiopian and South Sudanese airspace. Not ideal timing given ongoing RSF offensives in south-central Sudan and the battle for el Obeid looming, as well as reports that Saudi Arabia has brokered a $1.2 billion arms package for the SAF via Pakistan. Somaliland stands out as the most obvious pivot point right now, but the widespread international blowback that Israel received is a preview of what lies ahead for the UAE should it go that route.

It's interesting how you don't see disabled people's fundraisers as being about the state trying to kill us (and succeeding often in killing us), too. No urgency around them. No care. They are a wasteland of unmet goals and dead friends.
