Sometimes the grid lets you down but your hand never does!

#mcm #monochromaticmonday

Maybe this should be in a shade of blue since it’s #bluemonday. Hope everyone survived okay.

China’s actually installed *so much* wind power they’ve had to slow down a little as they couldn’t hook it up to the grid quickly enough.

Love going through my mom's preparations in case the Texas grid goes down again 🙃

By the way, should Texas' grid go down, I don't want to hear a fucking thing about how it's our fault because we're a "red state."

Stop blaming people for the failures of democracy when American democracy is a lie and go eat dirt.

Valentina is a Venezuelan engineer who also says the @nytimes.com report on a cyberattack that shut down the power grid in Caracas is not true.
This statement by @nytimes is factually incorrect. The vast majority of Caracas residents didn't lose power on January 3rd, not even "for a few minutes".

This can be verified through publicly available data, videos of the attack, and testimonies from people on the ground.

Today is testing every molecule in my body not to buy the prefab shipping container tiktok house from China and plunk it down in the middle of the woods to go off grid

"Save us Mr. Honda!'

While Aprilia rates a solid 'meh' & Pramac a 'somewhat acceptable', the rest of the MotoGP grid fell out of the ugly tree...

.. and hit every branch on the way down 🙈😠

Fixed the illustration grid and ordering on my illustration page last night. That was an absolute ballache. But then spent a good fifteen minutes just pulling down the letters and making them spin.

Last week, I was proud to sign the Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act, a major win for the future of our state’s energy.

Here’s how it will help YOU ⬇️ :

The problem here is not that people don't put solar panels wherever possible. They are already doing that (and they want to do that), but they are being blocked or slowed down by bureaucracy and a lack of staff when they want to connect them to the main grid.

Oh look, a repeat of... whenever tf was that (time has no meaning).

Texas's power grid goes down and folks are gonna wanna take his REAL ID and passport away.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was spotted earlier today, January 20, 2026, on a plane heading to Laguna Beach as the state of Texas braces for a rare ice threat and arctic cold front.

Since Oct, not a single day has passed without a russian attack on our energy grid.

At the same time, we've been fed fairy tales abt russia "wanting peace" — used as a convenient excuse to slow down deliveries of badly needed air defences.

A russian crime against humanity is unfolding live.

I 💯 hunker down. Drivers are crazy here on “normal” weather days. Just hope our flimsy power grid stays on…🫤

Rooftop solar + home batteries are cutting grid throughput fast. Transmission‑supplied energy is down 10% since FY19, even as customer numbers rise. Fixed charges won’t fix it — we need pricing that supports electrification

Networks are losing volume to rooftop PV and home batteries, and we now have a tariff problem
Electricity networks face a structural challenge - their regulated revenue model is being challenged by rooftop PV, and this trend will accelerate with home batteries.

Remember when it the #EV transition that was going to bring down the grid + cause everyone's electricity prices to rise?

Those were the days.

The Trump administration and Mid-Atlantic governors urged the nation’s largest grid operator to hold down consumer electricity prices and make data centers cover the cost of powering their operations.

Environmentalists warn that the proposal, signed by a bipartisan group of 13 governors, could increase reliance on fossil fuels and fail to bring consumer prices down.

We had a big ice storm out this was 15+ years ago.

Made for some lovely pictures but it was a bloody mess. It was really hard on the electrical grid and brought down a lot of big tree branches

Was brainstorming ideas for a grid-based top-down game in the vein of a traditional roguelike or Sokoban type thing involving an orb that can bounce off of obstacles and thought of an idea where you use the orb for traversal that I think could be pretty fun

here's the thing about living in the southeast, most of the electrical grid has ancient and untended infrastructure that loves to go offline with the slightest provocation. which means any big storm is likely to shut things down, and frozen roads mean it won't be repaired for a while
