Tonight, I had the honor of meeting U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff! We discussed a shared love of libraries, paths to affordable homeownership, and our hopes for the future of this country. From the Great Lakes to the Peach State, we're both working to build stronger communities.

Old quote: "Bad libraries build collections, good libraries build services, great libraries build communities"

Same person now: "The library community must shape AI toward ethical use and as a means of greater inclusion of authentic voice into the global conversation"

Reality of AI and community:
Preliminary results show that the current framework of "AI" makes ppl less likely to help or seek help from other humans, or to seek to soothe conflict, and that people actively prefer that framework to any others, literally serving to make them more dependent on it.
Sycophantic AI Decreases Prosocial Intentions and Promotes Dependence
