Gjaldskylda er orð ársins 2025 að mati notenda RÚV. Græna gímaldið hlaut örlítið færri atkvæði. Gjaldskylda var áberandi á árinu, ekki bara vegna ferðamannastaða þar sem gjaldskylda var tekin upp eða á bílastæðum, til dæmis við Háskóla Íslands.

Já það er einhver kona sem á líkbíl😂 sem er eiginlega aldrei notaður. Hún á heima á Ásvallagötu en eftir að það var tekin upp gjaldskylda þar færði hún hann í eitt af örfáum stæðum fyrir framan Björnsbakarí á Hringbraut. Unhinged.

Pour info, le premier gjaldskylda s'appelle Kirkjufell et (C'est la montagne) et Kirkjufellfoss (la chute d'eau) et et le deuxième gjaldskylda s'appelle Namafjall.
Sérieusement, je n'arrive pas à comprendre comment ils peuvent se méprendre.

Assuming all, or most, Icelanders have a reasonable enough grasp on English. Maybe it'd be easier to not include the icelandic "Payment Required" just to avoid further confusion.
Alternative is to name all of these places Gjaldskylda as a nation-wide prank.

Af hverju finnst fólki ókeypis bílastæði svona sjálfsögð? Þú borgar bara brúsann með óbeinni hætti. Íbúðir með bílastæðum eru dýrari, tala nú ekki um ef það er bílakjallari. Gjaldskylda þýðir líka betri nýting á bílastæðum (líkbíllinn á Hringbraut gott dæmi). Svona er þetta í miðborgum um heim allan

Af hverju finnst fólki ókeypis bílastæði svona sjálfsögð? Þú borgar bara brúsann með óbeinni hætti. Íbúðir með bílastæðum eru dýrari, tala nú ekki um ef það er bílakjallari. Gjaldskylda þýðir líka betri nýting á bílastæðum (líkbíllinn á Hringbraut gott dæmi). Svona er þetta í miðborgum um heim allan
