The cats (well Oreo - our black & white rescue ) have long used my inbox on my desk as a bed. Gave up that fight long ago. But Recently Jasper & Oreo have been fighting over it and my lap. So reconfigured desk and added second “inbox” (outbox?) on right… seems to be a hit.

I'm beginning to actually enjoy the challenge of summarizing a scholarly paper (at least key take away) into graphic image. (Many journals no require graphic abstracts) A unique challenge to say the least - 🐡🐙🦑

ex: I did for Dr. Mladinich's paper on selective micro-plastic ingestion/egestion:
Determining the Properties that Govern Selective Ingestion and Egestion of Microplastics by the Blue Mussel (Mytilus edulis) and Eastern Oyster (Crassostrea virginica)
Suspension feeding bivalve molluscs interact with different types of microplastics (MP) suspended in the water column. Most bivalves are selective suspension feeders and, thus, do not consume all part...

Definitely a night for home made ADULT hot chocolate. Thanks to Sophia (my espresso machine) wonderful frothed milk and 3 types of chocolate make it so decadent! A double shot of Irish Cream helps chase away the dread, while the chocolate and hot milk keeps the cold at bay.

It’s infuriating to me that I need to evaluate media to determine whether it’s AI generated now. The great “time saver” technology wastes incalculable time and energy for people who want to retain their grasp on reality

Jasper! This boy has been so insistent on this type of cuddling the past several nights. Makes it really hard to work at desktop.

Jasper doesn’t know the meaning of “personal space” even when I am working. Unfortunately this 20lb cat also loves shoulders more than anything else! He kept trying to get in my shoulder here… but the seat head rest and back kinda stopped him.

Thanks AI bros you are all absolute shites. Memory prices doubling in past 60 days and just in time for holidays when a lot of new systems are built/bought and I expect there will be another 25-50% increase in next 60 days at least. Then bubble burst and a glut if Micron et al increase production.

Bought used direct attached storage array - 32TB for same price as current 0TB bare version. It came with a TON of data from a firm - email, contracts, projects newest < 1yr old. People! Seriously!
Wipe data off anything and EVERYTHING you are taking out of service! I mean good thing I am ethical.

Oreo is a trooper for not only putting up with Mac in a cone, but continuing to pal with him and try to snuggle him. (Mac got the snip a week ago… so another couple days in the cone)

It's that time again - time to find an interesting image of a shellfish that is not dead, no human bits in the shot, not a "collection" photo, and not on a plate... and this time the editor wants an Ark. You know how hard it is to find images of ark shells that fit all (or most) of those criteria?
