Expressing disapproval of bigotry, refusing to tolerate nazism, fascism, stupid conspiracy theories, weird ethno-nationalist american chauvinism, etc. That all goes without saying. It's not even in question. Yes, be wise, by all means.

If someone is expressing doubts, the right thing is to *affirm and reinforce the doubts*, not use it as an opportunity to boost your ego by battering theirs. You want to provide them a life-raft to jump to, to make it easier for them to imagine giving up the bad things they've been believing in.

Very telling about the state of the Democratic Party that the first action upon hearing about MAGA folks posting about being betrayed by trump is to immediately welcome them into the party instead of expressing even a modest amount of skepticism or apprehension
