Its taken rather longer than it should have done, but we're delighted to report that at last @EssexHighways have now replaced the damaged guardrails on Queen Street which we reported.
#OnThisDay - 28 October 1937, the "New Wards Extension" at the Essex County Hospital was opened. The extension had two new wards containing 40 beds replacing the "hutted wards" which were closed.

We reported a damaged 'crested' bollard on North Hill that looked to have been struck by a vehicle to the folk at Colchester City Council.

It didn't take long before they told us they'd fixed it.

Thanks Guys.

Yesterday we handed over more than 330 knitted and crocheted poppies that had been made by our members and friends to support this year's #RBL #PoppyAppeal

Last night Colchester Civic Society passed a significant milestone, the 500th meeting of our Executive Committee.

A lot has changed since 1964 but one thing hasn't.

We still care passionately about #Colchester, it's heritage and it's future

every Tuesday.

Here's this week's offering to test and tease you.

We'll post the answer on Friday afternoon.
