I don't know what they were thinking with cutting it. I never thought it would be to do with costs, but maybe you are right. I'm still very happy to be able to play this game though, and I hope they remake DQVIII also but with less cuts.

Actually really amusing that they're so hyper aware of how much the West loves DQVIII so they keep giving us DQVIII Hero's clothes

I cannot say enough nice things about Dragon Quest II HD-2D. DQIII was too devoted to the original. DQI was overpadded and 1vMany combat was impossible to balance. DQII is perfect. Top 5 DQ game, easy. Put it on a shelf with DQIII, DQV and DQXI. (DQVIII is not on this shelf on account of the clowns)

True, was half asleep at the time.

I'd like news on DQ12, maybe an DQVIII remake, but probably too soon for that. And just any games that excite me, and make me think yeah I'm interested in that.

I loved DQXI, I bought that day one and had a hard time putting it down when I was going to do other stuff because the story and character development is fantastic, much like DQVIII, it sucks you in right away.

I would skip this one and play DQVIII instead, if you do want to play this one, I would see if you can get a copy of the original rather than play this version, it's not like the Suikoden, Lunar, and Grandia remasters where it subtly adds things to make it better.

*hyped for the latest Dragon Quest remake* I didn’t grow up with the games but since DQVIII I’ve really become a fan (especially of the music and the character design)

do Japanese fans care as much about DQVIII as Square thinks American fans do
Burst out laughing at this preorder image.

lil taken back by this followup. i have to imagine there def was more prevalent discourse post-DQIII with how they started experimenting heavy with the story structure and build the game around that.

like dqviii being a big success but catching strays for its girth and extensive vocation grind

i feel the need to mention that DQVIII has a mob called Fencing Fox and they look like this

7. Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined (demo).

Colour me impressed.

I heard some people say the original was a little slow. Even here, it does take a while to get to any combat, yet I didn't really mind.

It does seem a little easy on the standard difficulty, though. I remember DQVIII being pretty tough.

I did a pros and cons list for Dragon Quest VII Reimagined. The cons won.
I'm gonna wait for a sale. The demo is fun but I've never big a big DQVII fan. I hope other people enjoy it upon release date.
If they announce a DQVIII remake this year that's a god damn day one.

Whoa I don't even remember the crafting in DQVIII haha DQXI has a really good one though. Currently 85 hours into Rogue Galaxy and experiencing something very similar

Even with the hair, the DQVIII Hero is so Gohan coded

I get that this is a "reimagined" take on DQVII but neutering an already sterilized prologue feels weird imo.

Did people really hate not being able to see combat until a couple of hours in? It does explain why slimes immediately attack you within the first few minutes of DQVIII. #DQ7R

Yeah I’m about to be done with DQVIII and no spoilers but sometimes pacing is REALLY not later DQ games’ strong point

There’s a section where you have to do a puzzle-dungeon to get a thing only to get to the end of it for the guy to go “oh uh I don’t have it, try this place”

I was just messing abiut with DQVIII on PCSX2 last night. I managed to get it not blurry except for the text

I just found out that I had to go to the "claim special rewards" option to unlock the DQVIII soundtrack. It was there the whole time and I had no idea 💀🤣

I don't know which version of DQVIII to play 😭😭 I think I'll just wait for a remake if VII Reimagined sells well

that one of the reasons I am digging DQVIII on PCSX2=save state at anytime

perfect for a game like this
