I don't understand why states aren't passing laws that say any AI data center built here is required to run on solar energy and have some kind of internal water recycling system. AI could have led the way in green energy to power these stupid things but this is just another reason to hate it.

Civic Searchlight led me to Newell County Coun. Neil Johnson, who believes AI data centres offer an opportunity too good to pass up, largely because property tax revenue (even at a favourable rate) would be a huge boon to the county's stretched budget.

19 000 people were reported to the U.K police for posting revenge pornography, but I couldn't find national data on how many of these led to arrests. At least 1500 people were arrested in London in 2023 for posting revenge pornography.
