#cyberflashing
This isn't exactly subtle. Exactly what you'd expect from an authoritarian state.

My view is that we need to look at the different kinds of harm separately. Some of the rare good bits of the Online Safety Act include the parts on cyberflashing (dick pics) and epilepsy trolling. We also need to help kids navigate the problems, not punish them.

Sorry for the Daily Fail jumpscare here, not a lot of people are covering this and it could well ruin the social media nsfw art scene.

OSA to be expanded to include "cyberflashing." If platforms allow instances of cyber flashing to be posted, at all, 10% fine.

However, we know that education is vital to stopping #cyberflashing and other online forms of male violence, not least because these harmful behaviours often take place on private messaging channels.

Cyberflashing has sadly become normalised, and we hope that making it a priority offence under the Online Safety Act will increase awareness and encourage action and meaningful consequences, so that it is no longer tolerated in society.

We welcome cyberflashing being made a priority offence in the #OnlineSafetyAct, which will require tech companies to do more to identify it.

This must translate into stronger preventative action to stop it from happening and protect women and girls online.

Tech firms must take stronger action to prevent unwanted nude & sexual photos/videos being shared.

The plans are part of the government's plans to strengthen the Online Safety Act, which will see cyberflashing become a priority offence, requiring tougher action - as was done with self-harm content.

Cyberflashing is an existing offence, *already* illegal online. Making it a priority offence under the #OnlineSafetyAct is about what platforms have to do to police it. Awful framing from the responsible government minister.
Liz Kendall, Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology:

"I am making cyberflashing a priority offence. Because what is illegal offline, must be illegal online."
