3 kittens have followed me home or called me to them. Dogs of all kinds follow me and I even fostered a coonhound. That’s not counting my history with praying mantises, hummingbirds, opossums, centipedes, ducks, and dragonflies. I find kinship in animals and learn from them more than people.

As I read this, 60-odd pounds of coonhound mix was in the midst of landing his right leg with some force on my Adam’s apple in preparation to put his head on my chest and sigh contentedly. The lead-in is a little rougher, but the feeling is otherwise the same.

We've had Enthusiastic Rottweillers, and my one of my nephew dogs is a coonhound who absolutely LIVES for full body hugs, so hopefully I'm prepared! (might have to do some extra squats to get the quads amped up...)

My brother is getting a puppy tomorrow that he is gonna train to be a hunting dog (redbone coonhound and german shorthair pointer mix) and hes gonna bring him by so i can see and im 🥺🥺 i love hounds so much
