AWP2025 in LA was wonderful! I brought 4 students, who represented ONU & our student lit mag, Polaris, at the book fair. I ran an offsite reading, was on two panels & saw lots of friends, ate tasty food & visited the film academy museum. A great time all around!

Dinner last night at the Taiwanese American #awp2025 dinner filled a creative hole in me that I didn’t know existed. I’m so used to explaining my stories to people outside my culture, presenting my stories as a guide into a foreign world. And don’t get me wrong. I love sharing and educating.

I'm in this episode. At #awp2025, they recorded volunteer readers. I was there promoting @saaramyrene.bsky.social's book "Chamber After Chamber." Jackson chose one of her poems for the Harvard Review early in her career, a pub that told her to keep going. A full-circle moment, full of joy and grief

Back from #awp2025 and in the rhythm of grading and still trying to figure out how to balance that work / family / writing thing but feeling closer to being able to do so. The last panel I attended was on fallow times, which are always involuntary for me, so I'm building networks to prevent that.
