#Timidity
Nailed it. The Starmer Government's guiding principle is timidity.
Reeves' defensive crouch has defined her economic policy. Just try not to upset anyone, close your eyes and hope for the best.

She could not have been born gray. Her color, her color of brown, was an essential part of her, not an accident. Her anger, timidity, brashness, gentleness, all were elements of her mixed being, her mixed nature, dark and clear right through, like Baltic amber.

It's very striking that since 1980 the only party that gets to enact radical policies in Government is the Tories.

Even with huge majorities, the sheer, *repeated* timidity of Labour is utterly frustrating.

The European public support Ukraine.
The politicians are trying to figure a way out without upsetting #Felon47
They appear scared of Trump and what he might do if they upset him.
The politicians in the main are weak and are not supported in their timidity towards Trump.
We the people want action 🇪🇺
Maybe it’s about damn time for Germany, France, UK, Poland, and the Baltics to stop leaning on American led diplomacy to end this war. Trump’s administration has shown time and again how incompetent they are. They should not be in a position to be leading this effort. I say this as an American.

give them time. It will take a few days for them to show improvements on fear, timidity, etc. Or longer. It will take a week for them to see your place as their home and a month for them to feel safe. expect accidents. expect food sensitivities and perhaps guarding if they have been hungry.

ON THE BLOG: Monitor 91: Starmer's constitutional timidity

In the lead article from the latest issue of Monitor, Meg Russell & @alanrenwick.bsky.social argue that the government could be seeking to lead, and to set the tone on constitutional standards, but changes instead feel timid and reluctant.

You could jump in and chit-chat casually 😊💜 You'll get over the timidity 😊 But those are nice ideas!

I can certainly say that @blanksword.bsky.social is an amazing game. We found out live a way to almost ramp up those timidity stacks by... A lot !

Go try the game lads, it's so good

Silence, timidity and complacency with the status quo create tyrants.

(Swearing loud and long.)

Back in the 80s or 90s, David Dale, as editor of The Bulletins, front-paged "Why Your Bank is a Bastard" and got the sack.

It's miserable that even The Conversation inherits the lesson of timidity, and still gives banks elbow room for their morality.
Banking is set to be fundamentally rewritten by artificial intelligence, whether we’re ready or not. The real test is whether that transformation will be fair.
Your bank is already using AI. But what’s coming next could be radically new

Do you go to protests within kind of fakeness and timidity? Come on do better. Tell us the answer, yes or no

Nov. 21, 1775: “The King is determined let the Consequence be what it will to reduce us to Submission,” writes Congress member Samuel Ward of Rhode Island, and he is glad of it. “That Timidity and Fluctuation of Counsels which a Hope of Reconciliation induced have done Us infinite Mischief.”

Once more without the typo;

#Brexit has cost the UK way more than expected; Britain’s economy has declined by a massive 8%. Investment is down 12%+

No wonder we’re getting poorer. Farage’s fascism & Starmer’s timidity have been a disaster.

We need politicians with the courage to say “rejoin”.

Can't help but feel those responsible for Brexit should not, for example, be riding high in the polls with a new party...

#Beexit has cost the UK much, much more than expected; Britain’s economy has declined by a massive 8%.

No wonder everything’s so bad and there’s no money. Farage’s fascist xenophobia and Starmer’s pathetic timidity have been a disaster for this country.

I can't stand the timidity of the Press. Don't settle for "it sounds like a 'yes.'" What it sounds like is weaseling out of giving a direct and honest answer. Insist upon a yes or no response and call him out for refusal to give one.

Imagine a 100+ seat majority in the hands of even Wilson and Callaghan, never mind Attlee, Blair or Brown.

Every one of those Labour Prime Ministers did something or would have done something far more transformative than Starmer's strategic timidity.
Starmer isn't Britain's worst ever prime minister, but he is Labour's worst ever prime minister and it's not even close
