The Aliarcham Academy was the party school the Indonesian communist party in the 50s and 60s which was of course closed by the Suharto takeover in 1965. I've written wiki articles about some of its directors and instructors in the past, like the excellently-named Bismarck Oloan Hutapea.

When they do something remarkably American, let's call them literally anything else.
Not to mention, it seems like they dig up anyone they don't like. You don't ever see them compare him to idk hitler or Leopold or Suharto.
Seems like they want to keep taking digs at Mao or Stalin.

Oh thank God, I was worried all those skulls Suharto gave Bush Sr were just going to disappear into private collections

I see that @whitehousehistory.bsky.social put out a statement yesterday stating that they were able to complete a “comprehensive digital scanning project” to document the East Wing, and that the historic artifacts have been preserved and stored.

So the Trumps are basically the American version of the Suharto family...

A mere 19 months ago, Trump’s net worth was $2.6B, and he owed hundreds of millions in civil penalties. Today, Trump is worth $7.1B, and most of the civil penalties have been tossed out.

I'm not saying it's not hard, but the idea that autocrats don't care about protests is just wrong.

Just as the people in East Timor had it good when Suharto was butchering them and the Western countries such as US or Australia were advocating that they had no right to self determination because they were ants, they were profiteering and that's what they do today.

On October 1, 1965 an alleged communist coup attempt the way for Suharto to overthrow the Sukarno regime and massacre 500,000 people it claimed were communist. The Communist or pro-Communist label was an attempt to delegitimize and repress all opposition. Trump world is doing sth very similar.

This is an important political threshold for authoritarian regimes attempting to consolidate long-term rule. During the Suharto era in Indonesia (1966-1998), which I have researched for years, the regime cast *all* opposition as pro-communist, and therefore fundamentally illegitimate.

I know you all know what deranged, vile, propaganda nonsense this is. But for the record:
Leaders of the regime are declaring the opposition party and all forms of political dissent as illegitimate - and large swaths of the population to be dangerous terrorists. This is incredibly dangerous.

Mike Johnson on No Kings: "We refer to it by its more accurate description -- the Hate America Rally. You're gonna bring together the Marxists, the socialists, the antifa advocates, the anarchists, and the pro-Hamas wing of the far left Democrat Party. That is the modern Democratic Party."

Having lived in Indonesia for nearly a decade and having studied Indonesian history, Prabowo doing corrupt shit with the most corrupt US president in history is no surprise. Prabowo is a Suharto loyalist and as corrupt as they come.
