The Shopmobility is accessed from the Holy Brook car park. To go, they prefer 24 hours notice, and provide 2 forms of ID. Equipment can then be shown. They have 2 hosts to help out. If assistance is needed to get to restaurants, that can be provided. Security teams can help as well.

They are changing fonts, updating maps and improving access to information online and in print. They are also doing videos on the journey to Shopmobility." ReadiBus drop-offs are done near Shopmobility so people have access to it from the get-go. The user guide will be made easier.

Would be easy to scale up from the already-in-existence ‘shopmobility’ scheme 🤷🏻‍♀️

More funding to someone trusted already would seem like a winner, no?

They’d just need to widen the shopmobility perimeters, and install some new locations.

In my city we have shopmobility, if want to access those areas I can “hire” a mobility scooter and do so. Being disabled is tough but even with a car I couldn’t browse most of those shops on Charring Cross Road.

My Nan's legs have pretty much given in, she just sits in front of the TV every day. Got her out in the sun today on a shopmobility wheelchair for the first time. Was nice that there were actual council employees there to help. No contactless QR code dystopia rubbish (not for something like that!)

Do shopmobility sell off their old ones or something?

I would never have thought of recycling places or gumtree - thanks!

The buses would improve with more users would drive investment.

Shopmobility unfortunately closed down as it wasn’t being used enough, efforts to restart it with specialist groups have found that more people own their own now.

The plan holds or increases the number blue badge spaces in the loop.

RIP Sabu. Can’t help but wonder if your demise is partly down to that time my FYC tag team partner Stereo Mike reversed over your foot on a shopmobility backstage at the Cheese & Grain in Frome…?
