#Outliers
I agree, gross, but may I point out that Dolly is pushing 80 and she still looks awesome. So outliers are possible.

It’s not insanely wide. It’s just statistics. Seniors are sitting on an outsized chunk of wealth.

As for the outliers you mention, remember that property tax is, well, proportional to the value of the property. And deferrable. Just not as an investment that everyone else pays for—any more

Technically yes, but also no, Isekai is more of being trapped in said world permanately or until you finish a task to be sent back, Solo Leveling isn't an Isekai because they can leave said dungeons(except a few outliers) at any time and are more apart of their world, Gate is in a grey area but same

It is historical Christianity, just kinder & gentler. Meek, loving Christians have always been a myth except for a very few extreme outliers.

me: huh. my male friends cannot hold a back and forth conversation, nor do they look me in the eye when I'm talking. concerning, but probably outliers--

my straight female friends: NO ONE HAS ASKED ME A SINGLE QUESTION IN OVER THIRTY DATES. THEY ALSO LIE FROM INSECURITY. THE BAR IS IN HELL.

I mean, Team Cherry builds masterpieces in a cave, with scraps, but they’re outliers we don’t count those.

(Just to push back that game quality =/= expense; major companies absolutely have massive costs just from labor alone, yeah)

Most mass shootings are conducted by men, mostly white men. Its just easier to point towards the outliers than face facts about gun violence in the US.

We're getting a generational tank, so there'll be some record/standings outliers. But since '16 the 10 seed has needed 40+ wins 3 times. If you exclude covid year, 10 has averaged 38.5 wins.

Tldr, 17-12 is the minimum target in the final 29 if you're really doing this.

Also blame purity tests that prevent unity.

We should be allowed to agree only 95% on things without being screeched at by outliers who learned marxism from memes.

This goes for any person trying to push a century old political model without updating it.

Wonder how the second half of the season shakes out injury wise. On the one hand the biggest clubs might benefit as the grind hits thin squads. On the other hand, they, and an unprecedented number of other PL sides are in Europe and other cups. Man Utd are weird outliers and will probably benefit.

Given the billions paid in fines by JPMorgan and it still a going concern and lauded and its CEO is regarded as some brilliant mind and ethical the few outlier cases above really are outliers.
February 17, 2026 at 6:52 PM
Agreed

Also once we learn what the formulas for it really are, it should no longer seem terribly desirable, for the most part

There are a few outliers popular by way of being genuinely themselves and happening to shine a little brighter, but for most of us it'd be a deeply cynical calculation

My latest for @arstechnica.com is a wild ride of a story about why you should always double-check those weird outliers in your data: 🧪

The grey area voting for him in '24 was being OK with a convicted mobster who uses violence & money to subvert rule of law & democracy.

Barest culpability was knowingly voting for a racketeering violent gangster with sexual assault convictions.

There's no excuse bar outliers like personal coercion

Averages can be misleading. For example: The average height of a girl is currently about 1 kilometer. This is misleading, as a few outliers who's size is best measured in AU can skew the data. The MEDIAN size of girls is actually closer to 200 meters.

Case in point from my earlier post. Dems have also pushed independents from elections, and liberals are quick to point to people like Mamdani as CENTRAL to the party even though they are outliers and not what the majority of said party stands for, therefore thinking dem votes go to something real.
“They are declaring it as an emergency measure, which generally means public peace, safety and health. Does the name of a party really meet that criteria or is this just a political stunt?”

I -just- realized I never log on to you trying to start a real fight with me.

Yeah, you might get me killed a million times in Revenge of Shinobi, but it's good-spirited fun.

That means a lot to me. Healthy relationships with creators should be normalized. Not outliers.

AztecAnalytics tweeted
A couple of outliers in the last matchup vs GCU:

-GCU shot 10/21 from 3P (48%) - Lopes shoot the 3P shot at 30% (336th in D1)
-GCU transition defense held SDSU to .78 PPP (.3%ile) - Lopes avg is 1.15 PPP
-Aztecs 3-18 from 3P - 2nd lowest 3PM in a game this season.

Yeah if you go by the last couple of decades we would be fine for the most part since storms are usually smaller and you get melting between. Years like this one are the outliers with giant snow and temps too cold to melt it
