#Ordination
Oh, oh, I am fascinated by this! We covered it at an ordination formation evening recently. We weren’t aware it was used by some Anglican congregations, too.

But if Carney wants to take the sign out of the window, he needs to put boots on the ice in Greenland. I hope that's what he was referring to, and I get that action takes time and co-ordination with allies. But let's see that action, sooner rather than later.

I mean, I guess you could backdoor it since one of the baptismal vows is "continue in the apostles teaching" and one of the ordination vows is "be diligent in the reading and study of the scriptures"

but that still seems to be a weird *ordering* of doctrinal authority

"Theological, pastoral, and practical considerations must be supported by historical precedent, the Baptismal Covenant, Canons, or ordination vows."

does uh... the Bible? count as "historical precedent"?

Malcolm Grundy reviews Introducing Analytical Theology in Rural Theology:
'Weston is so well read in the range of disciplines
that he achieves this comprehensive introduction in a masterly way...Analytic Theology should be a compulsory module in every student’s final term before ordination'

What if our media were more about co-ordination, not influence? Clout farming is going to get an immune response. Some platforms aren't good hosts for your viruses. Wanting a single dominant platform, or to copy yourself across them all means you're not actually in dialogue with an audience.

Tbf the church both myself and Ross are in the ordination process for has been one of the most vocal and it’s clergy some of the most active against the current regime

Usually the forces of the state have the benefit of being able to act faster and with more co-ordination than any local citizens militia, but I suspect even if the military showed up there struggle too against what is, in reality, a leaderless collective resistance with no central command to attack

Pourquoi les prêtres doivent-ils passer le permis de conduire avant leur ordination ?

Parce qu'ensuite, ils ont des habits sacerdotaux.

and it wouldn't just be us it would be in co-ordination with the EU

Also before ordination she "served" in Afghanistan killing brown people for no reason other than that the country was used as a base by an organisation that attacked the US. Our "ally."

Yeah, I won't be going to join them in Chopwell Woods.

There will be a celebration of the 40th anniversary of my ordination to the priesthood on 5 December this year at St Helen’s, after which I’ll officially, *quietly* retire from my post here at the end of Jan 2027. I’ll still tutor for Oriel as long as I can, but no responsibilities.

People attacking Starmer for his response to Trump have watched way too much Love Actually. We traded our influence for Brexit and the Tories gutted our military. Diplomacy and co-ordination with our allies is our only option.

Könnte jemand Merz informieren, dass es sinnvoller ist, zu Hause zu Husten, als in der Ordination, um sich krankschreiben zu lassen?

Thank you for that. That’s helpful! I had a lackluster experience in CPE as an ordination requirement for a variety of reasons, so that’s a good perspective.

I also have a mind-meld at range used for tactical co-ordination in my final chapter! It’s the climax of that arc! Thanks guys!

It’s true you don’t sign up to be a martyr at ordination, but only because you already did at baptism. Am I ready for martyrdom? Idk I’m a big coward too. But I wouldn’t admit that on the radio.

Actually, it's quite a massive realisation, realising just how many things in my life were actually a consequence of just this.
Why did I hate sports? Because everything except running required motor skills and co-ordination that I just didn't have.

You found one (1) Episcopal priest who says his ordination had nothing to do with suffering

It’s true. You don’t sign up to be a potential martyr at ordination.

You do it at baptism.

Martyrdom comes with the territory of being a Christian clergy person.

We don’t say it out loud, normally. It wasn’t a part of my ordination vows, but giving your life in service to Christ and Christ’s church will always come with that risk.

We’re just not used to that risk in the US.
