SkySat imagery from @planet.com shows this JLOTS and IDF checkpoint area after it was dismantled on January 24. The dirt berms around the JLOTS were destroyed and the temporary structures (including two communication pylons) were removed.

There's so much going on in this report about the Gaza pier, but this part is particularly interesting.
The UN's World Food Program wanted the pier to at least be built in the north where the people were starving the most. The IDF and USAID overruled that plan.

The excruciating months of watching a JLOTS mission crawl out there, flail for maybe 25 working days of actual transfer of cargo, to achieve 75% of a single pre-war day at ONE crossing into Gaza. JUST for the headlines he could get along the way.

I still maintain that the choice to deploy the JLOTS was a good operational test of the platform which we can learn about from when it's needed in other theaters where marine landing capabilities will be needed.

"To clarify questions about U.S. personnel on beached Army vessels, on May 25, heavy sea states caused four U.S. Army vessels operating in support of the JLOTS pier operations to become beached. Two vessels were beached in Gaza near the base of the pier and two were beached near Ashkelon in Israel…

Jlots and half a hundred other Gaza response related things, Venezuela bridge, a lot of Ukraine stuff, basically anytime politicals touched HA, and that's just the HA side. The development side is a whole different can of worms, that imo needed to be completely reimagined from the ground up.

Couple of points:
1. All of the materials and personnel for the Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore (JLOTS) had to be organized and dispatched from the US.
2. Weather conditions delayed the anchoring of the pier.
3. It IS NOT an uncontested beach. It's in Northern Gaza!
