I mean, I did once get to task satellites to track pirates hijacking a tanker off Socotra Island and then supplied the intel which allowed EUNAVFOR to trace them on land in Somalia so they could be arrested.

New report up on interception of a Houthi USV by German Navy in the Red Sea, for @navalnews.com. The incident is the second intercept of a drone by a helicopter of forces assigned to EUNAVFOR Aspides, and the first such destruction of a USV.

Und tatsächlich haben das alle schon gemerkt. Die USA hat mit "Operation Prosperity Guardian" und die EU mit "EUNAVFOR Aspides" Kriegsschiffe im Roten Meer und im Persischen Golf um die Handelschiffe zu schützen. Die USA haben mehrfach Huthi-Stützpunkte im Jemen beschossen.

To be specific they're sending the Nave Virginio Fasan (F 591), a FREMM-IT class outfitted for ASW and with anti-air warfare capabilities plus SITEP MS-424 acoustic guns. This ship gained acclaim rescuing migrants in the Mediterranean during EUNAVFOR missions.
