I now interpret the absence of "great idea!" from AI as a sign of poor thinking.

The US cannot return to a functioning democratic polity.

The muppets they send as ambassadors to Europe will affect domestic politics.

Europe has to change its treaty (including the way it elects Commission's president) to strengthen and immunise itself.

But it won't

Nope. Apparently they see themselves as “wealth creators”, making everyone else *better* off, not worse.
Hello @sarahoconnorft.ft.com

On today’s article:

Concert tickets have fixed supply + promoters have extensive demand data beforehand.

Wondering how is this supply/demand responding to unexpected market forces, rather than artificial scarcity.

Our preprint “How Malicious AI Swarms Can Threaten Democracy” is now online.

We show how coordinated multi-agent LLM swarms can infiltrate communities, craft synthetic grassroots “consensus,” and erode institutional trust—and what we can do now to stop it.

🚨Very interesting take last night about the Musk vs Trump skirmish.

Musk was the enforcer. Trump has lost his main grip over Republican politicians.

They are now able to fight his laws without the fear of being priced out come the next election...

A beautiful day to be progressive.
Wondering whether this attracts fewer or more pigeon suitors.
If you don’t feel that misanthropic, just consider the pitiful disgusting imbeciles our species surfaces to the top.
#London Hackney and Tower Hamlets local communities saved The Bath House and turned a crumbling building into a thriving, self-sustaining community hub. I’ve had plenty of wonderful time.

Now the council wants to kick those communities out

The “new sanctions” to Russia at this stage are just vague and therefore ineffective.

We should have given frozen Russian assets to Ukraine long ago.

Threatening to give them now for not coming to the negotiation table could be effective.
Therefore, introducing new sanctions against Russia would be a logical step.Since Russia claims that active hostilities shouldn't interfere with the negotiation process, then sanctions shouldn't interfere with it either.

Seeing as some rich people went up in a rocket for a coffee break, I thought it was a good opportunity to repost William Shatner’s reflections on the experience; I genuinely think it is one of the most powerful pieces of environmental writing that I’ve read. variety.com/2022/tv/news...
