Note attached to the last letters Kate Butler of Dungarvan received from her son, who died in Samoa, requesting they be returned when the U.S. Pension Bureau was finished. They never were. Kate is one of the pensioners on the Yankee Pensioners in Ireland Map: storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/4e3d...

Got very lucky with the weather today for a visit to Dungarvan #Waterford with 5th class from St Mary's to explore the maritime history of the town. Organised with Heritage in Schools programme and supporting a project with artist Anne McDonnell. I even did a bit of drawing myself 😉

No.7 - Cherry Imperial Stout 9.5% (Dungarvan Brewing Co.)

Disappointing, no distinct cherry flavour, just fruit tartness overriding the stout itself. Dry and flat. Doubly disappointing as it’s the 2nd year without their excellent Coffee & Oatmeal stout for the winter brew.
