Welp, that Macintosh IIsi PSU was not salvageable. Some of tiny chips on the daughterboard were MIA due to all the cap juice.

Next best thing? Make a replacement PSU with a custom PCB and a bunch of expensive parts from digikey. 👍

shoutouts to fucking DigiKey of all companies that made a FreeCAD tutorial series that actually resulted in me creating something. Might also just be a confidence boost after watching multiple different ones for different software, but fuck it, I made something now. www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

adafruit and sparkfun are two of the big players in the hobbyist market. digikey and mouser are industrial suppliers that will sell small quantities to individuals.

you can also find a lot of generic dev boards and parts on amazon if you're a person who uses amazon

i was looking at adafruit and sparkfun, but they charge like 2-3x as much as amazon and aliexpress. i'll look into digikey and mouser, thanks!

Coworker: Okay to measure this laptop's power consumption we'll need to get a barrel plug from digikey and then fab a PCB and then route it and then and then and then...

Finally got around to fixing this servo motor board. Had a cascade of failures after some coolant ingress that took out a good few components. $15 of parts from digikey though, and its good as new!

digikey electronics really does the "this item is E0.50. plus E25 shipping costs" thing

DigiKey has totally spoiled me. I had to order something from Mouser and it's been 2 days now and it's still not shipped...
I think that's a new record 😳

Our BH23AL can be seen in many security devices around the world! Best suited for compact devices requiring 12V but minimal current, such as certain remote controls, wireless security sensors, or doorbells!

Before the multimeter, there was the galvanometer. When Oersted's experiments were published and spread throughout, men from every corner of Europe were trying to capitalize on the discovery. Learn more in this Digikey Retro Electro article on the Galvanometer.

The SAMA7G54 is a 1 GHz 32-bit ARM Cortex-A7 SoC with a bunch of interesting features. It costs $9.04 in qty 100 from DigiKey. www.microchip.com/en-us/produc...

This product line came from Atmel, along with the AVR, when Microchip acquired Atmel. You could run RISC OS, but no graphics output.
