Early Stormlight is so funny because Kalaidin was like 19 making extremely difficult moral decisions and the storm father basically tells him to go fuck himself but Dalinar is 50 and formally homicidal sleeping with his dead brothers wife and he's like this is literally the best man I know

one of the funniest parts of The Way of Kings is Navani Kholin clawing her way out of the sister-zone. Dalinar calls her the honorific for older sister and she responds by cornering him in an isolated room and kissing him. Being his brother’s widow Was Not Gonna Stop Her

Some Stormlight Archive art that's been stuck in futzing limbo for 2 years

Thirty-four years ago Dalinar was pretty much a terrible person. “Let’s see how well they fight while they watch us rounding up their families.” I know there is worse than using women, children, and the elderly as pawns in a battle, but this is not normally what heroes are made of.

This is so good! Genuinely one of my favorite series. Some excellent character writing, especially Dalinar, Shallan, and Kaladin. I have a huge soft spot for Pattern, too.
