its embarrassing how stripped down skyrim is compared to morrowind, or especially daggerfall 😭 the whole POINT should be to immerse urself in ur character and the world, and stats and menus and rules are such a massive part of that!!

the disease system in daggerfall is so silly. you can randomly get a disease as a low level character which will just randomly kill you with no informative message at all, and you can soft lock if you're saved away from a temple and haven't learned cure.

based on the available evidence, the statement this guy is making is clearly resonant with a huge amount of the elder scrolls fanbase. i remember people making fun of the daggerfall dev who said "um, what was wrong with the original?" when that unity port came out. this is the normative position

and of course i hAVE to mention that daggerfall and morrowind BOTH have amazing ports made by fans that keep the games more than fresh, with massive active communities of fans and modders that add even more to both games! u will literally never need a new bethesda release if u play those two ports

daggerfall unity is the way to go!! much more accessible than the original release and also has tooooons of great mods that add so much life to it! i played it for the first time like a couple years ago and now its one of my absolute favorites of all time!

has anyone ever tried the linux version of daggerfall unity? their guide doesn't have the info i need.
it runs but has a wonky nonstandard file browser and i can't seem to figure out how to change partitions or paste in the path.

yeah he never worked on morrowind, daggerfall, ect. only the later games that were stripping all the coolest parts out.
