#DISABILITY
I like to be fairly open about chronic illness/disability stuff because I think visibility helps in general.

But I avoid specifics because otherwise my social media experience devolves into an endless doctor visit with people who can't treat me but have so many questions and ideas.

She literally used AI when we were in Edinburgh to check disability access for restaurants nearby. I noticed.

Don’t stop at young girls or past tense “were.” They apparently think people as a whole are disposable especially those with brown skin and God forbid you should have a disability, be homeless or get old. People to them are to be used and abused at their whim.

It's not the learning disability that keeps people back.

With learning disabilities, there are psychological issues that might go unaddressed. Learning more about the learning disability, might not improve the condition itself, but it might help to see their life from a new perspective.

Having a hard time taking "leftists" and anyone really, seriously worrying about deaths and peoples safety about xyz - when most people can't even bother wearing a simple mask just cause they wanted to eat a stupid burger, to protect people from death and long term disability.

Yes absolutely! This administration is responsible for unnecessary death, famine, disability and TRAUMA both at home & abroad! Never underestimate the societal impact of desperation & trauma. We will feel this.

Normal Foley came to Sligo. She visited disability service providers but not Sligo Disabled Persons Organisation. Her own policy is to centre DPOs and she ignored the local dpo. What message are we to take from that about how DPOs are valued in practice?

This person did not improve over time, the reading disability was still as difficult as before.

However, due to the experiments, the person gained insights into their own condition. The person recognized that there were psychological issues too, not just the reading disability.

It is important for people with learning disabilities to find other ways to participate and belong in culture, because the strong desire to belong will cause psychological problems otherwise.

I once helped a person with reading disability by doing experiments with fonts and number of words.

These people have a strong desire to participate and belong in culture of human civilization, but they feel something is holding them back.

They believe that learning to read properly will help them get rid of that feeling. However, they won't admit they have a learning disability.

Why would anyone believe that the DOJ has any vested interest in eliminating, not just enforcing, the ADA and disability discrimination?

They collect the money. The person subject to the discrimination is in no way represented in the financial transaction that follows.

some disability awareness

This is what nerve deterioration and arthritis looks like on a bad day. This is why I can no longer draw like I used to. This is why it is getting harder and harder to play the piano.

I am slowly, painfully, losing my hand. I am 28.

Please treasure your abilities.

Neurodiversity doesn’t mean autism isn’t a disability.

It means the disability doesn’t live inside us as a defect.

It lives in the friction between our bodyminds
and systems built for someone else.

Difference and disability aren’t opposites - they’re inherently entangled.
