14 November 2025 A long time ago, I spent a few years working on garbage collection in the J9 Java VM. And even though I've done mostly high-level stuff since then, deep knowledge of GC remains useful. Yesterday, it was an insight from one of my favorite GC papers, A Unified Theory of Garbage Collection, that helped me solve a tricky problem. OM's incremental parsing I'm working with a team that is using OM to parse text documents and render a rich text version in ProSeMirror. The goal is bidirectional updating: changes to the ProMirror should propagate to the text version, and vice versa.

TF Game Jam 2025 - Submission Devlog: Day 16

Pathfinding polish today! I fixed a bug where kobolds would sometimes go towards the world origin for no reason too...

All of the attack code is written but it's super buggy rn so even though attacks are attempted none of them seem to work :v

Okay, I think if I get some more decent sleep I'll be able to do a bit of studying tomorrow and hopefully get some long delayed blog posts up. Maybe also a starter devlog for These Corridors Are Endless too. I'm trying to work out if dedicating it to Alice Wong just might be too on the nose.

Made more progress on animating the enemy. I'm thinking of making 2 versions of the same enemy too for some variety.

ALSO, instead of opening doors, you can take and put them in your inventory. Wasn't kidding when I said im putting immersive-sim mechanics in my game
