A pixel art portrait of a man, topless save for a loincloth, gazing up at the sky. His skin is sallow and pierced in many places -- neck, pectoral, arm, abdomen, waist, thigh -- with arrows, and blood drips down. A pixel art portrait of a woman gazing upwards, palms outstretched and pierced with crosses. Behind her head, a halo of knives. Her skin is pale and her hair is long and dark, and her long, white dress is stained with blood. A man with his arms stretched -- one out, one behind him. His head is thrust back and two long shafts of light pierce his chest. A pixel art portrait of a nude woman, one hand to her side the other curled out behind her. Her hair is long, ginger, and plaited. It comes to the small of her back and curls against her torso. Her eyes are dark. She is expressed with dithering and unrealistic colours. Half of her face is shadowed and she smirks.

Finally got round to posting the image process o'er on Patreon. Because I've been a little quiet, I'm doing a few months of free access for everyone before I migrate over to the new format.

Anyway you can go here -> and see a neat pixel process.

Find my blog and all of two posts here -> gothydellamorte.wordpress.com/2025/08/12/h...

A few more to come in the next few weeks, plus some ongoing projects. I'm shuffling about my Patreon/etc.
I have a bad habit. Its one you may have noticed if you've been subscribed to me for any amount of time, or followed me on social media or just, seen me at all.

I can't finish anything.

I have a tendency to start things and never finish them -- games, art, stories, articles, pitches. You name it, I've not finished it. My hard drive is a graveyard of projects as yet unfinished, untitled or unopened in far too long.

Despite Lynch's refusal to saddle us with his concrete intent there remains this enduring necessity to take him apart and lay him out piece by piece, to vivisect, log and categorise the man. We gave his body of works a genre of its own - "Lynchian" -, synonymous with other. Like a human puzzle we start at the edges of the very man himself and seek to build an understanding from without.

And then sent off a little 500 word thing that may or may not get picked up but in all likelihood won't.

If it doesn't I'll post it elsewhere.

This one comes with a fairly graphic trigger warning of descriptions of an autopsy and a murder.

#writer #writing #horrorwriter #horrorwriting
Today was an exceptional day. The girl he intruded upon was exceptional: he had seen many bodies. He didn't think he'd ever had someone who had been murdered. It wasn't something he wanted to get used to. The question was much less about the how, as the why: you didn't have to be a doctor to see the gash in her throat. It was unpleasant, pinky-yellow, with fatty, cabbagey edges already washed clean and robbed of their immediacy. Her pale skin bloomed and flapped with cuts, the deep centres blooming with red like some cruel orchid.

It helped him to measure her -or indeed any body but especially hers-, in parts and approximations relative to other, non-anatomical things. It made stopping to smell the flowers difficult, but he had little sense of smell between the regular assault upon his nostrils that was ethanol and putrescine.

The irl writers group I'm in is doing an anthology, as they do occasionally, and the general gist was a ghost story in about 1000 words. The word count got tripled but I kept mine short.

Anyway here's a lil bit from it. It'll be available to purchase later in the year.

#writing #horrorfiction
Dreden Point was the sort of place that had never looked welcoming, a state of being that seemed to go hand in hand with it's attraction to ghost hunters. As a still image on his laptop, the ridge of its roof a spine, the effect was not lessened. In life it had been too neat, too ordered, portioned off like a prison meal -- this part for sleeping, that for taking, for eating, playing, meeting, living, operating, cutting, dying, burying. It teetered on the edge of a cliff that the ocean stripped away year by year in inches and clumps measured by concerned geography students in waders with long, brown rulers, all of whom said that the place was bound for a watery grave within the decade.

In a human sacrifice to deity there might be at least a mistaken and terrible beauty; in the rites of the moneychangers, where greed, laziness, and envy were assumed to move all men's acts, even the terrible became banal.

Now, more than ever, you have to be a weird little pervert who makes art of questionable quality. You need to be driven crazy by the flesh. Because, as we all learned from Cronenberg's The Fly, the computers are not made crazy by the flesh. They can't do it like us.

Y’all I am by no means saying you should stop discovering new music 😭 I’m simply suggesting being intentional about which albums you listen to. Don’t just let an algorithm make a playlist for you. Buy a damn cd/tape/vinyl. Listen so much that you want the t shirt
lusthag.bsky.social
I genuinely believe it is best to enjoy less music. Re-listening to one of my favorite albums will always take priority over discovering new music. Streaming has normalized the over-consumption of music to the point that most people listen to things once and never again.

An illustration of Miss Major surrounded by candles with blue background and a famous quote of hers written in gold. The quote reads“I don’t need their permission to exist; I exist in spite of them. I want you to train and teach and love on and create families within my community and gender non-conforming people, so that we can understand that we have a culture, we have a history, we have a reason to be here. We have a purpose. We’re entitled to be loved, and seek happiness, and share that with the people that we care about.” -Miss Major Griffin-Gracy

BPD makes it worse, of course. Makes everything fucking worse. I never really talk about how it affects me and maybe I should but I wouldn't do that publicly, there's enough visible scars on me. It's something to think about, at least.
gothydellamorte.bsky.social
And that is me. Unquestionably. And people hold it against me lots because I "never shut up" and that hurts and leads to a lot of my trying really hard to explain myself and really just digging myself a hole and I don't really know what to do with this information.
gothydellamorte.bsky.social
I keep coming to the realisation that I'm really bad with words because I'm constantly overthinking and trying to explain my every thought because I don't want to be misunderstood. This is a self fulfilling prophecy, very often. Recently came across the existence of hyper-verbal autistic processing.

Tell me your most unhinged literary opinion, as a little treat
gothydellamorte.bsky.social
People "give up" for all kinds of reasons and I'm not comfortable sitting here and condemning that or talking of my Irish friend who doesn't use the fada because of dyslexia as though they're less Irish for it. They are fiercely protective of their language and heritage. That's why I don't pick.
gothydellamorte.bsky.social
As I have said elsewhere: I have tremors and my brain mixes up words and punctuation. My phone doesn't have an Irish dictionary so it doesn't add the fada without extra effort on my part and I'm on my phone, not my laptop, which does use fada because on there I made a converted effort to.
