At the last minute the UK government has added a power to demand access to your device and extract information from any online account, on the say so of a senior police officer, in the #crimeandpolicingbill #cpbill
Really incredibly extreme stuff. No judicial oversight, just hand over your device.

I was proud to move the clause relating to protecting war memorials in the #CrimeandPolicingBill Committee Session.
The Bill will bring about for police who are looking to tackle the disrespectful act of climbing on specified war memorials during protests.

We welcome the Home Secretary's announcement introducing a new Child Criminal Exploitation offence within the #CrimeAndPolicingBill.
We hope these changes will strengthen protections for children and serve as a deterrent to those who exploit them.

Is mandatory reporting in the Crime and Policing Bill a sham? This is what effective and well-designed MR looks like. #crimeandpolicingbill #mandatoryreporting voicesunbound.org.uk/current-camp...
Current Campaigns - Voices Unbound
Voices Unbound is opposed to the current government's recently published Amendment to the Criminal Justice Bill because of its sham attempt to sell its measures as genuine mandatory reporting.
