Great to meet so many people at the Health & Social Care Job Show last week! We loved chatting with those passionate about supporting young Londoners. Don't worry if you missed it! You can join our talent pool to share your CV and hear about future roles 👉 saferlondon.org.uk/join-the-tea
We need to stop seeing young Londoners as perpetrators and start asking how they got there. Exploitation isn’t a “lifestyle” - it’s abuse. Real safeguarding means listening with care, compassion, and letting young people lead the way.

Everyone makes choices. But sometimes those choices come from fear. One young Londoner we worked with was just 15 when he faced violence from adults, and he was told it was his fault. Now, he's part of our participation programme - a space where we listen and we help him to see himself differently.
This is what one young Londoner told us after working with Safer London. Through our Time To Listen campaign, we're amplifying voices like theirs - because no one should be labelled when asking for help.

Violence and exploitation affects young Londoners' mental health in lots of ways - both in the moment and over time. Our experience tells us that having someone they can trust to talk things through with can make a huge difference to their mental health and helping them get through tough times 🧡
Too often, young Londoners are judged for their actions without anyone asking 'why'. By listening and not labelling, we create the safe spaces they need to be heard. Our Time To Listen campaign challenges the systemic failures that harm young Londoners. Change starts when someone says: 'I see you.'
1 in 8 young people (16–24) are now NEET - the highest in a decade. But a trusted adult can change everything: someone who believes in them and helps them navigate barriers. If we’re serious about ending youth unemployment, youth workers must be at the heart of the solution.

We are appalled and saddened at yet another case of misogyny and racism in the Met Police.

At Safer London, we have worked with outstanding officers who genuinely care. We will keep working with them to fight for young Londoners' right to live free from harm.

Our Director of Practice and a VIP lead a workshop at the Contexts of Contextual Safeguarding conference on how safeguarding orgs can engage with young people’s peer relationships when harm happens outside home, and how these relationships can be sources of love & protection to promote safety.
Many risks to young Londoners' safety are in public spaces. We worked with AWW architects to explore how design can reduce risk and create safer, more inclusive spaces. Thank you to AWW - together we're showing how charities and businesses can build a city where young Londoners thrive.
The presence of a Caseworker at a young Londoner's most vulnerable moment can be life-changing. We are there to listen without judgement, build trust, and help them take their next steps. This September is the perfect time to join us: saferlondon.org.uk/fundraise-fo...
The young Londoners we work with are often juggling so much, all while trying to keep themselves safe from harm. But when they feel listened to, they feel safe enough to share what's really going on in their lives. By choosing to listen first, our Caseworkers help them move from harm to hope ❤️
The effects of exploitation on young Londoners is devastating. It can result in life-altering harm and create psychological damage and disrupt young Londoners life trajectories. We're here to change that. Through relationship-based support we help young Londoners take steps towards hopeful futures.
New look. Same mission.

Our new brand identity reflects the gravity of this work and the commitment we make to those we support. We know that healing is often non-linear and rarely easy. But we show up and we stay because our promise is to be there every step of the way.
Parents often juggle work, childcare, school calls, social workers & endless meetings all while trying to safeguard their child from harm. In our latest blog, a Safer London Caseworker shares what this support looks like & the challenges families face. Read more: bit.ly/41eEOMg
Being a young Londoner today comes with navigating pressures that previous generations have not had to face. This #IYD, we asked some of the young Londoners we work with: 'What are you most proud of?' Every story is a reminder of the strength they carry - even in the face of huge challenges 💛
Yesterday we spoke at the Public Policy Exchange's event on the Future of Stop and Search. We advocated for young Londoners' voices and were invited to join consultation groups for the new Stop and Search Charter - a positive step toward a more fair, respectful & collaborative approach ⬇️ ⬇️
We welcome the Government's plan to expand youth services. With 30% of London’s youth clubs lost since 2010, investment is vital. To succeed, young people must be at the centre of solutions. Let’s build services that truly support them and help them connect with communities. Read more bit.ly/4fo1j7c

27% of UK children have seen porn by age 11. The new RSE government guidance takes some steps forward but misses key issues like intersectionality and teacher support. Read our blog on what’s promising, what’s missing, and what’s next.

We came together as a team yesterday to reflect, connect and look ahead to our bold plans. We also spoke about the negative narratives around young Londoners, and how, in reality, we see strength, creativity and resilience every day. Proud to be part of this work ❤️
At this week's Trustee meeting, we focussed on good governance, strategy, and the future of our board. We explored where we're heading - and the skills, experience, and insight we need to get there. Interested in becoming a Safer London Trustee? Keep an eye out - we'll be sharing vacancies soon 👀
