Chordates include people, with our bones (vertebrae), tunicates have no bones but share the five key characteristics of the Phylum Chordata including a dorsal nerve cord. Strictly speaking, animals must have these characteristics at some stage in their development, not necessarily in the adult stage

In the phylum Chordata. Does that mean it has a spinal cord? This blob has a spinal cord?

Sub-Phylum Tunicata is a really large and extremely interesting part of the Phylum Chordata, and the Olfactores clade.

Check out a couple of other species of Tunicates.
