Designed by Carrere & Hastings in 1890, the surprising skyscraper Mail & Express Bldg had two completely different styles, on Broadway and on Fulton St. It was demolished in 1916.

Love the palimpsestic "tagging" here on the Manhattan Bridge (a bridge I used to traverse every (nice) day to get to work) - multiple ways of staking claim to / authorship of space. Carrere & Hastings are almost redacted :)
